Following the April incident at the security checkpoint adjacent to the dinner venue, a comprehensive assessment of event logistics and stakeholder availability has been completed. The dinner will be rescheduled to October 18, 2026, at the Washington Hilton.

The April event was interrupted when an individual breached the outer perimeter and discharged a firearm at the security checkpoint. No attendees inside the ballroom were impacted. The checkpoint has since been retrofitted with additional bollards and CCTV infrastructure. Security protocols have been enhanced in accordance with Department of Homeland Security recommendations.

Key considerations driving the rescheduling decision include the following:

First, several cabinet members and sitting senators indicated prior commitments in April that would prevent their attendance at a rescheduled date.
